Your privacy at Renew Alumni

Your name and email; optional profile details you choose to add (bio, avatar, sobriety date); information you share when requesting access (discharge date, brief story); posts, comments, likes, milestones, and event RSVPs you create in the community.

• Community posts, comments, and milestones are visible only to approved alumni and Renew staff.
• Access-request information is visible only to authorized Renew staff.
• Your account is created and secured through Renew Alumni's authenticated backend.

• All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
• Row-level access controls enforce that only approved, signed-in alumni can read community data.
• Staff access is limited to those with a legitimate reason to review verification requests.
• You can request deletion of your account and posts at any time by contacting the alumni team.

Some information alumni share (sobriety dates, milestones, personal posts) may be considered protected health information. Renew handles this data under HIPAA-aligned practices: access controls, audit logging on staff review actions, encryption in transit and at rest, and a Business Associate Agreement with our infrastructure provider. HIPAA compliance is a shared responsibility between technology, policy, and people. A production deployment requires a signed BAA with the hosting provider, staff training, and periodic access review — Renew maintains those separately.
